Position OverviewThe Billing Assistant works closely with Qualified Intellectual Disability Professionals (QIDPs), Associate Directors, Network Directors, Team Leaders, and residential staff to ensure timely and accurate documentation of Medicaid-billed services. This role also includes training residential Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) on documentation protocols and supporting high-quality billing practices.

Residential Networks
- Finalizing and entering Medicaid billing for residential sites.
- Monitoring timely submission of documentation.
- Preparing and submitting monthly and quarterly billing reports to the Associate Director.
- Demonstrating a strong understanding of proper billing procedures.
- Coordinating with the Assessment Coordinator to update staffing goals.
- Creating new goal documentation templates.
- Stocking and updating billing binders with current templates each month.
- Training new staff on documentation procedures.
- Organizing and maintaining the administrative file folder.
- Performing general administrative duties, including phone support and processing new hire paperwork.
- Managing the mental health-specific admissions waitlist file.
- Collaborating with the Billing Coordinator.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Lifting up to 40 pounds from the floor to waist unassisted.
- Pushing and pulling up to 75 pounds.
- Performing deep knee squats.
- Pushing wheelchairs weighing up to 200 pounds.
- Remaining in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods.
- Operating motor vehicles.
- Frequently using hands, fingers, arms, and legs to perform various tasks, including computer work and occasional equipment installation.
- Performing physical activities such as driving, balancing, pushing, pulling, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion.
- Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- At least one year of experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and/or Mental Illness.
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Medical Assistant, or Associate degree in a related field.
