About the roleWork Location:
On the road in and around the local Oceanport region
The Transport Aide is responsible for aiding participants in “through the door” transportation to the health center, home, medical appointments, or other destinations as part of transportation services. The Transport Aide also assumes responsibility for communications while the van is in motion and reporting any changes observed in the participant's condition.

Qualifications Education & Training- High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Valid state driver's license preferred but not required.
- Valid CPR/First Aid card is preferred but not required.
- Aides should be familiar with the region and the surrounding areas.
- Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
- Must be physically able to perform strenuous tasks.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions for a safe work environment
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff, and the public.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ideally, a minimum of 1 year working with a frail or elderly population
- We are seeking a courteous and friendly Transport Aide who can deliver excellent customer service consistently. Transport Aides must assist clients getting in and out of the vehicle and assist clients with a "through the door" service.
- Applicants must have a flexible work schedule, to accommodate the business need.
- Applicants must be familiar with using cellular phones and navigating around areas using a GPS.
- Experience working with the elderly population
- Physical certifications:
Pass DOT "fitness for duty" exam; HEP B Series and contractual vaccinations - Acceptable background screens, which include but is not limited to criminal check and drug and alcohol screening
- Valid Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Self-motivated and responsible
- Willing to go the extra mil e
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must provide a current driving record printout when applying for a driving position (Valid 30 days from date of application)
- Must pass pre-employment screening - background and drug screen which includes alcohol screening
Driver must be able to pass the physical test:
- Lift up to 50 LBS, push up to 150 LBS
- Bend from the waist
- Pivot from waist
- Be able to move from a standing position to kneeling position back to standing

The pay range for this role is:
15.49 - 17 USD per hour (NJ01 - Bold Age Oceanport)
