Pinnacle Freight is seeking a highly driven and experienced Purchased Transportation Manager to lead and optimize our nationwide carrier network, with a strong emphasis in the refrigerated LTL space. This individual will own and manage asset carrier relationships across the United States, negotiate competitive rate structures, drive service performance improvements, and help build a best‑in‑class end‑to‑end transportation network. This role is critical to strengthening Pinnacle Freight’s position as a premier coast‑to‑coast refrigerated transportation provider.

• Develop, manage, and grow relationships with asset‑based carriers nationwide, with a focus on refrigerated LTL providers.
• Negotiate rates, capacity commitments, and service agreements that deliver cost efficiency and margin improvement.
• Monitor carrier performance metrics including on‑time service, claims ratio, communication, and compliance.
• Drive continuous service improvements with carrier partners through structured performance reviews.
• Secure and manage capacity during seasonal and market fluctuations.
• Identify new carrier partners to expand geographic coverage and strengthen service offerings.
• Build a scalable purchased transportation strategy aligned with Pinnacle Freight’s growth initiatives.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Brokerage, Operations, and Sales to ensure seamless execution.
• Maintain compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and food safety regulations as applicable.
• Support RFP processes and assist in strategic pricing initiatives.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Carrier Sales, Purchased Transportation, or Carrier Procurement within the freight and transportation industry.
• Strong working knowledge of asset carriers across the United States.
• Experience in refrigerated transportation, preferably refrigerated LTL.
• Proven track record of rate negotiation and margin improvement.
• Understanding of market cycles, seasonal capacity trends, and network optimization.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.

• Existing network of refrigerated asset carrier relationships.
• Experience working with food‑grade freight and cold chain compliance.
• Familiarity with TMS platforms and carrier performance analytics.
