Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Assembly Supervisor to lead the wiring and pressure testing of High Voltage Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) equipment. This role is responsible for supervising electricians and installers, ensuring high-quality installation standards, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
This is a fully onsite position based in Spotswood, NJ.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate electricians and installation teams during wiring and pressure testing of High Voltage GIS equipment
Interpret and analyze technical drawings to ensure proper installation procedures
Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean work environment
Manage union contractor resources and assign tasks effectively
Monitor installation processes, schedules, and timelines
Make informed decisions regarding installation procedures based on cost, quality, and efficiency considerations
Ensure high standards of workmanship and adherence to established processes
Qualifications & Requirements3–5+ years of hands-on electrical field experience
Experience supervising electricians or installation teams
Strong knowledge of high voltage electrical equipment (GIS preferred)
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Experience with electrical wiring and measurement tools
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow structured processes
Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted
