Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Level 3
Department: Maintenance - 1016
Location: High Bridge, NJ
Summary: The Level 3 Maintenance Technician performs advanced-level maintenance and mechanical repairs on vehicles and equipment, focusing on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and corrective actions. This role supports and mentors other Maintenance Technicians, ensuring the efficient operation of machinery with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Execute advanced maintenance and mechanical repair tasks on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with PLCs, hydraulics, electrical systems, controls, pneumatics, and CNC/manual equipment.
  • Conduct thorough preventive maintenance to ensure optimal machinery performance.
  • Perform fabrication and welding tasks as needed.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot specialized equipment, including ovens.
  • Read and interpret repair manuals for effective execution of repairs.
  • Adhere to and enforce company safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to complete work orders and ensure project completion.
  • Prepare detailed maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Document actions, irregularities, and communicate ongoing needs to maintain workflow continuity.
  • Train and mentor lower-tier mechanics in maintenance techniques and best practices.
  • Demonstrate initiative, independence, and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Communicate issues and concerns clearly and respectfully through appropriate channels.
Qualifications
  • Expert proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, hydraulics, electrical systems, controls, pneumatics, and CNC/manual equipment.
  • Skilled in welding and fabrication.
  • Extensive experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting ovens and other specialized equipment.
  • Ability to prepare, analyze, and present mechanical maintenance reports.
  • Proven experience coordinating and leading staff on maintenance projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding and proficiency with machine shop equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to efficiently troubleshoot complex machinery issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in training and mentoring junior mechanics.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in advanced maintenance and mechanical repair activities.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role preferred.

The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
