Principal / Senior Principal Biostatistician – Novartis

Novartis, a leader in pharmaceutical science, is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Biostatistician to join its Advanced Quantitative Sciences team. The selected candidate will lead the development and implementation of modern and innovative statistical methods for clinical trials, ensuring robust design, analysis, and data exploration at the study level. This is an on‑site role located in East Hanover, NJ.

• Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all statistical tasks on assigned trials.
  • Develop statistical analysis plans, protocol development, and reporting activities in alignment with the development plan.
  • Plan and execute exploratory analyses and provide statistical consulting within cross‑functional teams.
  • Initiate, drive, and implement novel methods and innovative trial designs in collaboration with the Lead Statistician.
  • Collaborate with clinical, regulatory, and other strategic functions to drive quantitative decision‑making in assigned indications/programs.
  • Coordinate with data management, programming, and medical writing to ensure timeliness and quality of statistical deliverables.
  • Engage externally with consultants, advisory boards, health authorities, congresses, and scientific meetings.
• Essential Requirements:
  • PhD with 3+ years of experience, or MS with 7+ years of experience (principal/senior principal level commensurate with experience).
  • Fluent English (oral and written).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Compensation and Benefits: The annual salary range is $119,700 to $222,300, commensurate with experience, and may include performance‑based cash incentives and eligibility for annual equity awards.
