Ability to travel the Tri‑state area to meet with clients. Ability to attend events and conferences.

We are hiring on behalf of a highly respected, design‑driven residential interior design firm serving an affluent, design‑savvy clientele. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Business Development professional who thrives in relationship‑based selling, understands the luxury ecosystem, and is energized by opening doors to meaningful, long‑term partnerships.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating new business from high‑net‑worth individuals while cultivating strategic referral relationships with professionals and organizations that support affluent households—including luxury home builders, developers, realtors, private wealth advisors, architects, art dealers, concierge firms, and nonprofit organizations with upscale donor bases.

This role is ideal for someone who is fearless, polished, deeply organized, and motivated by building something lasting. You’ll be joining a team that values professionalism, trust, and thoughtful growth; where your contributions directly impact the firm’s success.

What You’ll Do
  • Build, nurture, and maintain a robust referral network within the luxury residential and lifestyle ecosystem, including builders, developers, architects, engineers, realtors, financial advisors, art consultants, and other high‑end service providers
  • Actively prospect and identify new high‑net‑worth clients and strategic partners through thoughtful research and targeted outreach
  • Execute consistent, high‑quality outbound business development efforts and manage a healthy, forward‑moving pipeline
  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients and partners, delivering a concierge‑level experience aligned with a luxury brand
  • Attend and represent the firm at industry events, galas, fundraisers, design shows, and social gatherings where affluent clients and Centers of Influence are present
  • Manage opportunities from initial outreach through warm handoff to the design team
  • Collaborate on partnership initiatives and outreach strategies to support long‑term market expansion
  • Analyze market opportunities, competitive activity, and emerging luxury lifestyle trends
  • Maintain accurate and organized CRM records and reporting
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction, Architecture, Historic Preservation, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree strongly preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful sales or business development experience
  • Proven experience leading complex sales processes involving multiple stakeholders and decision‑makers
  • Demonstrated success prospecting, qualifying, and closing new accounts
  • An established network of Centers of Influence within luxury real estate, development, architecture, engineering, or related industries
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, deliverable‑driven environment
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
Skills & Attributes That Define Success
  • Relentless, fearless, and resilient
  • Highly organized with strong discipline and follow‑through
  • Strategic thinker with a creative approach to relationship‑building
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Natural connector who enjoys research, outreach, and long‑term relationship cultivation
  • Self‑motivated, accountable, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team
