Ascend Wellness Holdings (AWH) is looking to hire a Regional Retail Director for our New Jersey market!
The Regional Retail Director of NJ reports to the SVP of Retail and effectively leads their team of Store Managers, ensuring strong retail performance with responsibilities in driving sales, customer service satisfaction, and P'L management of the retail stores.
This role will work cross functionally with key partners including but not limited to Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Compliance, Marketing, Retail Operations, New Store Development, and Construction to ensure regional business needs are met.
Primary Responsibilities- Monitor the P&L reports for each store and develop effective ways to fill in any gaps between actual performance and company projections
- Prioritize store performance issues to make certain that the issues most directly affecting profitability are addressed first
- Immediately address any lapses in compliance with corporate policies or local, state, and federal laws
- Ensuring region-wide customer satisfaction and product quality
- Act as a coach to the store managers and a resource to each store employee to help inspire the success of each store
- Responsible for overseeing all aspects of retail performance, ensuring efficient and sound operations, maximum profit, and a best-in-class store experience
- Establish and ensure key performance indicators (KPI) are being tracked and maintained in all store locations
- Anticipate market trends and opportunities by analyzing existing product performance, customer insights, and individual store KPI's
- Manage the purchasing and procurement of product mixes per location; set pricing and promotional strategies
- Ensure best-in-class customer experience exists by staying connected to customer needs, anticipating changes and preparing teams to meet consumer challenges
- Maintain active presence in the stores and provide support for in store events
- Analyze and create weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports
- Partner with Senior Leadership to develop, execute and evaluate strategies for opening new retail locations
- Develop initial store operating budget in coordination with Store Manager and Finance Department
- Establish staffing levels for new stores and partner with Human Resources to ensure a proper hiring plan is in place
- Ensure successful implementation of POS system in new locations, including employee training
- Maintain physical presence throughout store set up and store openings
- Collaborate with product and marketing teams to plan product allocation, merchandising plans, promotional signage, and social media strategies
- Partner with cross functional leaders and Store Managers to monitor store inventory, staffing and other critical operational functions to optimize store performance
- Partner with Compliance and HR to implement Standard Operating Procedures for all retail locations, and ensure they are in full compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Bachelor's degree or 9+ years' experience in lieu of degree, in a senior management role in a retail setting, specifically with POS
- Strong organizational, project management and time management skills to successfully implement strategic initiatives from initial idea through execution
- Strong business acumen including data management, quantitative analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication, critical-thinking, and presentation skills; including the ability to provide written and verbal direction effectively
- A high level of integrity, personal motivation, adaptability and sense of urgency
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and prioritize workload to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines
- Must be a collaborative team player who can both nurture and develop retail management
- Proven leadership ability, as well as strength in building internal partnerships
- Ability to think strategically and develop achievable long-term goals
- Strong organizational, project management and time management skills to successfully implement strategic initiatives from initial idea through execution
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Superior interpersonal skills including strong public speaking abilities
- 80% travel; hours and days of availability may fluctuate during times of greater demand
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation in implementing programs that fit business needs
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Strong project planning skills and project management skills
- Highly proficient in all MS office products (Proficient Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe, and Outlook)
