Job Description

RETAIL RECEIVING CLERK

Main responsibilities:

  • Receive all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and individual vendor deliveries.
  • Verify accuracy of invoices and ensure proper documentation.
  • Maintain cost, quality, and inventory control through auditing and electronic systems.
  • Organize and maintain the receiving, storage, and loading dock areas.
  • Handle damaged or spoiled products, including repair, pricing, or return.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, balers, compactors, and hand-held devices.
  • Train employees on store policies and record-keeping procedures.
  • Maintain accurate department records and comply with company policies.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
  • Implement emergency procedures for equipment or software malfunctions.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Organizational skills for managing inventory and records.
  • Problem-solving abilities in handling discrepancies and equipment issues.

Knowledge:

  • Basic mathematics and weights/measures.
  • Product variety, perishability, and handling standards.
  • Company policies and procedures related to receiving and inventory.

Abilities:

  • Lift and maneuver items up to 60 lbs.
  • Operate various equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Stand for long periods and perform repetitive movements.

Educational requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Occasional travel, including overnight travel, may be required.

Other requirements:

  • Must comply with grooming and dress code standards.
  • Good attendance and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay transparency language:

Pay is $21.75 per hour
