Description
: E2 Project Management, Inc. has immediate openings for qualified applicants for Field Technician positions to support upcoming fieldwork Phase III Investigation/Data Recovery projects within the local area. Successful applicants will be responsible for working with E2PM’s senior cultural resources staff and field supervisors throughout the duration of the project. Currently, this is a temporary assignment of short duration and potentially non-continuous assignment.

Other than statutory requirements the position will have no benefits.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Testing and excavating designated areas and archaeological sites
  • Screening soils for artifacts
  • Collection of soil, carbon, wood, etc. samples as directed
  • Completion of field forms, drawing sketch maps as well as profile and plan view drawings
  • Completion of field inventory forms of recovered artifacts and samples
  • Other field, lab, or office related duties as assigned
  • Perform work in a variety of environmental settings including fields, woodlots, urban areas, roadway corridors, etc.
  • Receives close supervision on all aspects of assignments
  • Typically reports to a Crew Chief, Field Supervisor, or Archaeologist
  • Minimum of BA/BS degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field
  • Completion of an archaeological field school OR demonstrated prior field experience in data recovery
  • Must be able to stand / kneel for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform field work outdoors and in various weather conditions
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, regulations, and standards appropriate to archaeological work.
  • Commitment to safety and quality in all surveying activities.
  • Strong ability to keep pace to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to commute to the office and project site(s) – Possess a vehicle and valid driver’s license.
