This role focuses on electro-mechanical inspection of electronic assemblies and upholding IPC industry standards to maintain the highest levels of product integrity.
About the Role
As a Quality Inspector, you will perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections to verify that electronic assemblies meet customer, industry, and internal quality standards. You will provide real-time feedback to production operators, document discrepancies, and support a zero-defect manufacturing culture.
You will work closely with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure compliance, traceability, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections, including customer source inspections
- Conduct visual verification of electronic assemblies using microscopes and optical comparators
- Support first-piece verification runs and documentation review
- Verify compliance with IPC and customer standards
- Perform spot inspections, sampling, and 100% inspections as required
- Document nonconformities and escalate systemic quality issues
- Conduct routine line audits to ensure documentation, consumables, and tooling compliance
- Advocate for proper ESD, PPE, and FOD prevention practices
- Obtain and maintain required IPC certifications
- Maintain strict adherence to IPC and quality system standards
- Support ISO-9001 and/or AS9100 quality system requirements
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
- Promote a customer-focused, zero-defect mindset

- 3+ years of quality assurance experience in electro-mechanical or electronics manufacturing
- Experience performing visual inspections of electronic assemblies
- Familiarity with IPC industry standards
- Comfortable working under a microscope and/or using optical comparators
- High School Diploma or GED
- J-STD-001 Class 3 and/or IPC-610 certification
- Experience working within ISO-9001 and/or AS9100 environments
- Experience operating inspection equipment such as AOI or X-Ray systems
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to provide real-time feedback in a fast-paced production setting
- Willingness to cross-train in multiple quality disciplines
- Detail-oriented with a strong quality-first mindset
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven manufacturing environment
