Responsibilities- Maintain inventory of repair parts, supplies, and technical manuals necessary to maintain devices.
- Order repair parts and/or components and supplies as required using the ERP system.
- Perform incoming inspections on new, trial, and demonstration equipment before they are placed into patient service.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing equipment for repair and maintain the equipment log.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspection procedures to optimize performance, reliability, and projected life expectancy of Medical Center instrumentation.
- Document and refer high‑risk device failures to the BMET I‑IV for repair.
- Execute pick‑ups and deliver instrumentations to the various hospital units for service and/or preventive maintenance, or supplies and equipment from local vendors as directed.
- Perform repairs on low‑risk equipment, including IV pumps, under the supervision of BMET I through BMET IV technicians.
- Actively stay informed and knowledgeable about changes, enhancements, and new features and versions related to the equipment and machines with which you work.
- Attend both on‑the‑job training and off‑site and/or out‑of‑state training requiring travel that can include one or more overnight stays.
- May be required to travel to other Hackensack Meridian Health facilities as needed to ensure BMET service delivery is appropriately maintained.
- Maintain good personal relationships with other team members, nursing and medical staff, vendors, manufacturers, and the general public. Participate in meetings, seminars, training, workshops, and conferences as required. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Complete other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6.0 hours a day.
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Demonstrates proficiency using computer‑based technology (e.g., Google email, calendars).
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of a hospital’s core function to the community.
- Demonstrates knowledge of current technology and its uses as it relates to healthcare.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.
- Some college education in a technical field.
- Minimum of 3‑5 years technical/scientific experience.
The starting hourly rate is a minimum of $26.71, with potential for performance‑based incentives, bonuses or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
In addition to our compensation for full‑time and part‑time (20+ hours/week) positions, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act.
