We are seeking a qualified Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) for an immediate opening. Our client is a private, not for profit Community Behavioral Health Care provider serving Cape May County. Their Mission is "To promote and provide superior behavioral healthcare in the community." They provide comprehensive behavioral health treatment services under contract with the Division of Mental Health Services, the Division of Addiction Services, the Division of Youth and Family Services and the Division of Child Behavioral Health Services.

Job Responsibilities A Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing for the health, safety and security of children/adolescent consumers that have a history of emotional problems. Additionally, to document a full comprehensive nursing assessment within (72) hours of admission to the group home.

Additional responsibilities for the Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) include:

40 hours per week (day shift)
Must be flexible on schedule

No On-Call Consults with psychiatrist and other members of clinical team to aid in coordination of treatment plans.

Facilitates weekly nursing group with clients on health/hygiene/sex education.

Provides therapist with updated medical appointments and needs for treatment plan meetings.

Monitors medication. Provides education to clients and parent/guardian regarding side effects and importance of accurate self-administration. Documents in chart.

Provides psychiatric support to clients. Sits in with psychiatrist during medication monitoring meetings with clients & documents.

Updates families regarding consumers medical needs and informs parent/guardian outcome of appointments.

Implements, coordinates and evaluates the program of infection control, prevention and surveillance of activities.

Completes initial nursing assessment with consumer and parent/guardian on day of admission.
