The Perioperative Nurse is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and family support throughout the three phases of the surgical experience. This position provides the physician members of the healthcare team with the equipment, supplies, and support to perform surgical/endoscopic procedures. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing;
  Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred.
• Current licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
• Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; training provided and competence required within 30‑60 days.
• Prior ambulatory/operating room experience preferred.
• BLS/HCP required; ACLS preferred.
• Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) preferred.

Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

Potential for exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, blood‑borne pathogens, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position works in a busy, noisy environment and has frequent interruptions requiring re‑evaluation of priorities. It requires standing for long periods, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, and walking short distances quickly. This position reports to the Director of Nursing/Clinical Manager.
