Contract Duration: Two (2) Years

Onsite Requirement: Mandatory (No Remote / No Telehealth)

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care services to incarcerated individuals under the supervision of the Medical Director, Physician, or Registered Nurse. This role supports medical intake, chronic care, medication administration, sick call, and ongoing patient monitoring within a secure correctional healthcare environment.

The LPN works collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, mental health staff, and custody personnel to ensure safe, compliant, and patient-centered healthcare delivery.

• Provide direct nursing care to inmates in accordance with physician orders and nursing protocols
• Assist with intake medical screenings and health assessments
• Perform vital signs, wound care, specimen collection, and basic treatments
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and report concerns promptly

• Administer prescribed medications in accordance with scope of practice
• Maintain accurate medication administration records (MARs)
• Monitor and report medication side effects or adverse reactions

• Assist with sick call clinics and chronic care follow-ups
• Document patient complaints, observations, and nursing interventions Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in medical records
  • Follow all correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and safety protocols
  • Comply with New Jersey correctional healthcare standards and regulations
  Collaboration & Safety
  • Work closely with healthcare staff and custody personnel
  • Adhere to security procedures within the correctional facility
  • Participate in interdisciplinary communication as required
  Required Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program (Required)
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted New Jersey Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (Required)
  • Experience providing nursing care in:
    • Correctional facilities
    • Institutional healthcare
    • Comparable clinical environments (Preferred)
