Registered Nurse, Operating Room, Per Diem, MMC Ambulatory Sugery Center at Rockaway

Atlantic Health System seeks an experienced Operating Room Nurse for per‑diem at MMC Ambulatory Surgery Center, Rockaway, NJ.

This role requires variable shifts Monday‑Friday according to the surgical schedule. The nurse works with healthcare professionals to treat patients undergoing ambulatory surgery including colonoscopies, orthopedic sports, hand, GYN, laparoscopic, plastics, urology, general, rectal, podiatry, pediatrics. Responsibilities include monitoring patients, administering medications, keeping records, consulting with providers, educating patients and more.

• Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports in EPIC.
• Prepares medications for patients undergoing surgery and monitors for side effects and reactions.
• Maintains patient safety throughout the surgical experience.
• Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
• Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with the healthcare team.
• Records patient vital signs and medical information.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• All ADN must complete BSN studies within five years of their start date.
• Master's degree in nursing or related field.
• 3+ years perioperative nursing experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center.
• CNOR certification.
• EPIC EMR proficiency.
