Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician for a 3‑month temporary contract to support ongoing hardware development activities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with precision SMT soldering, PCB assembly, electronics testing, and general laboratory support. This role is critical in supporting engineering builds, troubleshooting, and rapid prototype iteration.
QualificationsJOB DUTIES
- Surface-Mount Soldering:
- Perform high-quality manual soldering and rework of SMT components down to 0402 size.
- Place and remove fine‑pitch ICs, passives, connectors, and other components using microscope‑assisted techniques.
- Board Build & Assembly:
- Assemble prototype and production‑intent PCBs.
- Populate components, perform rework, and complete full board hand‑builds as needed.
- Operate soldering stations, hot plates, hot air, and reflow tools.
- Testing & Debug Support:
- Perform board bring‑up tasks under engineer guidance.
- Conduct electrical testing using oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, and other lab instrumentation.
- Document test results and identify basic electrical issues (continuity issues, shorts, faulty components, etc.).
- General Electrical & Lab Support:
- Maintain lab equipment, inventory, and workstations.
- Prepare wiring, cables, fixtures, and test setups.
- Support engineers with prototype builds and setup for experiments and verification.
- High school diploma required.
- Associates or Bachelors Degree would be nice to have.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience as an electronics technician, assembler, or similar role.
- Proven ability to solder and rework SMT components down to 0402.
- Proficiency using standard electronic lab tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, microscopes, soldering equipment).
- Understanding of basic electronics principles and PCB layouts.
- Ability to work independently, follow engineering instructions, and maintain high build quality.
Temporary 3 Month Contract
Pay$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
