About the Job

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Quality, the Process Quality Engineer role is a high‑visibility, high‑impact leadership role within the Quality Control Department at TFI USA.

Duties & Responsibilities Process Control & Quality Assurance
  • Develop, maintain, and execute area-specific process control scorecards.
  • Monitor, track, and trend key quality and food safety KPIs (yields, defects, hold product, foreign material, complaints, micro results, audit findings).
  • Verify HACCP, SSOP, GMP, and USDA regulatory compliance on the production floor.
  • Conduct routine process audits to ensure adherence to SOPs and preventive controls.
  • Identify process deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Use statistical data and operational metrics to identify trends and process variation.
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations using structured problem‑solving tools (5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto).
  • Partner with Operations to implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Drive reduction of rework, foreign material incidents, customer complaints, and non‑conformances.
  • Present data‑driven findings and improvement plans to plant leadership.
Customer & Regulatory Support
  • Lead investigations related to customer complaints and foreign material incidents.
  • Serve as primary quality lead during internal, customer, and third‑party audits.
  • Provide documentation and technical support for regulatory and customer inquiries.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of corrective action reports.
  • Leadership & Training
  • Train and mentor Quality Technicians within assigned area.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for designated production processes.
  • Support cross‑functional collaboration between Quality, Operations, Maintenance, and Sanitation.
  • Promote a culture of food safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational Support
  • Support pre‑operational inspections and production start‑up verification.
  • Assist with validation and verification of new processes, equipment, and product launches.
  • Participate in risk assessments and food safety program reviews.
  • Perform other related duties within scope and capability as required.
Requirements/Education/Experience/Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Biological Sciences, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in USDA‑inspected food manufacturing (meat or protein industry strongly preferred), Equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume production environment.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
