Role Overview:

The Tower Operator operates and maintains saturant towers for coloring and insulating fibrous materials, ensuring efficient and quality production through proficiency with certified tower lines.

Responsibilities include:

• Loading reels of wire onto payoff stands and empty reels onto take-up.
• Lacing wire over pulleys, passing through a compound receptacle, oven, and to the take-up.
• Filling receptacles with specified saturant types.
• Setting controllers for required operating temperatures.
• Starting machines, checking wire quality, and making adjustments for smooth saturant application.
• Mixing materials as per specifications.
• Maintaining quality standards and operating machines at specified speeds.
• Managing all activities on their machine during their shift.
• Setting up machines for production cycles and adjusting machine settings.
• Monitoring machine functions and troubleshooting issues.
• Checking output for errors or flaws.
• Performing other tasks as assigned.

Skills required:

• Knowledge of process equipment, tooling, and procedures for safe, productive operation and maintenance.
• Understanding of production procedures and preventative maintenance.
• Adherence to safety regulations.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills.
• Physical stamina and strength.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.

Language skills:

Effective communication in English (verbal & written).

Qualifications:

Preferred: 1-2 years manufacturing experience.

Required:

High School Diploma or GED.

Shift availability:

3rd shift:
Monday – Friday
