Electrical Project Manager – Electrical Construction

Our New Jersey client, a well-established commercial and industrial electrical contractor, is actively seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join their growing team. Compensation is based on experience, with strong benefits and bonus potential. This role will manage electrical construction projects (commercial/industrial), ranging from approximately $100K to $3M+ in value.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple electrical construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality expectations are met.
- Apply strong working knowledge of electrical construction methods, processes, and best practices.
- Perform accurate take-offs and develop project scopes, budgets, manpower plans, and schedules.
- Handle project layout and coordination with field teams, to direct manpower, resource allocation, promoting workplace safety culture, etc.
- Prepare project reports, documentation, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Communicate effectively with customers to define project scope, address deficiencies, negotiate pricing, and maintain strong long‑term relationships.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and timely issue resolution.
- Provide responsive customer service while maintaining high standards of professionalism and organization.
- Oversee project financials including cost tracking, forecasting, and billing.
Qualifications
- Approximately five (5) or more years of electrical contracting project management experience within commercial or industrial electrical construction.
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with electrical estimating software (Accu Bid, Con Est, McCormick, EBM, OST, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, field personnel, and internal staff.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong customer‑service mindset and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
