Job Overview:
The supply chain coordinator is responsible for overseeing and supervising supply chain activities in Labor and Delivery and some Mother/Baby areas including but not limited to distribution, warehouse, and storeroom functions within the facility at the direction of the supply chain facility manager.
Performs procurement activities in a cost-effective manner using current inventory management processes and procedures. Responsible for managing product demand and inventory levels using PAR tools to ensure product availability while minimizing inventory expenses.
Works with clinical resource directors (CRD) and supply chain procedural area manager to secure approval on all new item requests prior to requisitioning.
Serves as a liaison between supply chain operations, department leadership, clinical resource team and finance.
Supply chain coordinators are expected to be in their assigned facility prior to the start of assigned shift unless prior arrangements have been made with the site supply chain director (SSCD) and/or the site supply chain manager. Attire should be business appropriate.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma
- Excellent customer service skills
Preferred:
- Supervisory experience
- Some college
- Healthcare supply chain operations experience
- Valid New Jersey Drivers License
Scheduling Requirements:
- 6:00am-2:30pm
- Monday-Friday

Essential Functions:
- Practices and adheres to all department and organizational policies, procedures, and initiatives
- Handles all interactions with professionalism and respect
- Keeps work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards and obstructions
- Oversees the training, use of and maintenance of all material handling equipment in a safe manner
- Reports all safety concerns to a supply chain director, supply chain facility manager, or safety coach
- Assists supply chain management in daily supply chain operations and special assignments as delegated by the supply chain director or manager
- Oversees and participates in the orientation and training of new staff
- Interacts with other supply chain teams, clinicians and vendors to ensure proper flow of supplies into the facility
- Has a working knowledge of People Soft and handheld scanning devices used in the department
- Supervises PAR Optimization program according to supply chain policies and procedures
- Reinforces First In First Out (FIFO) method of stocking supplies
- Oversees processes and reports all “returns to vendor” or “shortages” appropriately
- Observes Min/Max reorder point theory for storeroom replenishment
- Responsible for submitting special requests (capital, furniture, equipment, etc)
- Ordering forms for the state
- Participates in periodic and year end physical inventories as assigned
- Ensures all Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are met
- Reviews backorder reports daily and works with supply chain and distributor to identify acceptable product substitutions
- Communicates product changes where appropriate
- Mitigates all customer service, employee, and end user concerns. Anticipates and avoids delays that can adversely affect the customer. Communicates with customers regarding the status of pending actions and inquiries about products or services. Responds to calls on hospital issued phone in a timely fashion. Escalates all questions or concerns supply chain management when needed
- May need to work weekend or holidays when coverage is needed
- Provides support with other supply chain functions as needed, including cross training
- Performs all other duties as assigned
