We are currently seeking a Full-Time Resident Health & Fitness Coordinator for our 5 Star Community, Crane's Mill! Offering competitive pay and robust benefits!
Responsibilities
Assesses, plans, and implements fitness programs to improve cardiorespiratory function, body composition, muscular strength, muscular endurance, or flexibility.Supports the mission and values of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey, which is:
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, and in response to God’s love as revealed in the Gospel, the mission of the Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey is to serve those in New Jersey who hurt, are in need, or have limited choices.Other duties as assigned by my supervisor, necessary for the efficient operation of the department/facility.Conducts stress tests, using electrocardiograph (EKG) machines.Demonstrates correct use of exercise equipment or performance of exercise routines.Develops exercise programs to improve participant strength, flexibility, endurance, or circulatory functioning, in accordance with exercise science standards, regulatory requirements, and credentialing requirements.Explains exercise program or physiological testing procedures to participants.Interprets exercise program participant data to evaluate progress or identify needed program changes.Measures amount of body fat, oxygen consumption, or lung functioning.Prescribes individualized exercise programs, specifying equipment.Provides clinical oversight of exercise for participants at all risk levels.Recommends methods to increase lifestyle physical activity.Assesses physical performance requirements to aid in the development of individualized recovery or rehabilitation exercise programs.Calibrates exercise or testing equipment.Educates athletes or coaches on techniques to improve athletic performance, such as heart rate monitoring, recovery techniques, hydration strategies, or training limits.Evaluates staff performance in leading group exercise or conducting diagnostic tests.Interviews participants to obtain medical history or assess participant goals.Mentors or trains staff to lead group exercise.Orders or recommends diagnostic procedures, such as stress tests, drug screenings, or urinary tests.Plans or conducts exercise physiology research projects.Presents exercise knowledge, program information, or research study findings at professional meetings or conferences.Supervises maintenance of exercise or exercise testing equipment.Teaches behavior modification classes related to topics such as stress management or weight control.Teaches group exercise for low, medium, or high risk clients to improve participant strength, flexibility, endurance, or circulatory functioning.Complies with professional, ethical, and legal standards.Qualifications
Education/Training/
Certifications:
Minimum personal trainer or group instructor certification.
Skill(s): Excellent verbal and written communication, service orientation, critical thinking, time management skills.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
