1 position for WW Hematology Medical Communications and Medical Strategy. Fellowship Position Office

Location:

Lawrenceville, NJ, 08648 (Princeton Pike)/Hybrid. POST-DOCTORAL PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY FELLOWSHIP – Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, offers over 40 years of post-graduate Fellowships in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry. This 2-year fellowship is a joint effort between the Rutgers Institute for Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships (RPIF) and Bristol Myers Squibb. Program emphasis is in Hematology Medical Communications and Medical Strategy.

Fellows will work across the Medical Communications and Medical Strategy functions within the Worldwide Medical Oncology (hematology) organization and will learn to communicate key clinical and economic data across channels to inform healthcare decision-making. The Fellow will gain experience in generating strategic and prioritized scientific publications, content, and medical education for Health Care Providers (HCPs) and patients. In the first year, the Fellow will plan and execute scientific communication deliverables;

in the second year, the Fellow will gain broader understanding of Medical Affairs from the perspective of the Worldwide Medical Strategy team. This position encourages critical thinking and leadership through cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Medical Strategy, Medical Information, HEOR, Field Medical, Clinical Development, Clinical Science, Field HEOR, Legal and third-party vendors). This program complements university experiences with professional development and collaboration opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • MEDICAL COMMUNICATIONS
  • Collaborate with WW & US Medical Strategy, external authors, and internal stakeholders to develop publications adhering to BMS standards, including abstracts, congress presentations, and manuscripts focused on disease burden, unmet medical needs, and the clinical and economic value of BMS assets
  • Lead the execution of publication plans and manage stakeholders across functions to ensure strategic alignment
  • WW AND US SCIENTIFIC CONTENT
  • Understand information needs of HCPs and patients to ensure strategic delivery of information
  • Collaborate with WW & US Medical Strategy, HEOR, medical field teams, and other stakeholders to develop fair-balanced scientific narratives, platforms, and content with medical integrity, accuracy, and clinical relevance
  • Lead content creation of medical communication deliverables, including AMCP dossiers, NCCN/Clinical Pathways submissions, reactive slide decks, and FAQs for field medical
  • MEDICAL EDUCATION
  • Execute BMS-led satellite symposia at key international congresses (e.g., European Hematology Association)
  • Evaluate unsolicited IME/CME medical education grant proposals for medical accuracy, fair balance, and alignment to asset/indication medical strategy
  • Analyze outcomes data from satellite symposia and IME/CME activities and develop reports on metrics such as reach, audience, downloads, and impact on clinician learners
  • MEDICAL STRATEGY
  • Participate in the Medical Matrix Team to support strategic planning based on unmet medical needs from patient, provider, and payer perspectives; collaborate to deliver advisory boards, proactive/reactive messaging, and publication strategy
  • Engage with international Key Opinion Leaders through investigator meetings, advisory boards, Thought Leader Engagements, publication planning, and congresses
  • Contribute to evaluating investigator-initiated trial concepts and their alignment with prioritized research questions

University-based experiences complement industry experiences and include a Professional Development Series, opportunities for collaborative research, publication, and teaching, and participation/leadership in Rutgers Fellowship committees.
