Direct Support Professional, Awake Overnight

Position Overview

Alternatives, Inc. in Branchburg, NJ is hiring a part‑time overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to support adults with developmental disabilities. The pay rate is $20.75 per hour, with a premium of $22.75 on weekends. For over 40 years, Alternatives, Inc. has provided residential, behavior support, employment, support coordination, and recreation services to adults with intellectual, developmental, and mental health challenges. The organization serves counties including Warren, Hunterdon, Morris, Union, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean.

As a DSP/Caregiver, you will help clients with daily living tasks such as medication administration, meal preparation, personal hygiene, and transportation to medical appointments. You will also implement individual behavioral plans, teach new skills, and facilitate community outings. Accurate documentation and timely reporting of any health or safety concerns are essential.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screen, and tuberculosis screening
• Completion and maintenance of required trainings such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support
• Basic computer skills
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
