Certification Details
- Assessment skills across Pediatric to Geriatric patients with competent knowledge of growth and development stages.
- Performs thorough, systematic, comprehensive, and accurate patient assessments.
- Consistently demonstrates competent clinical skills and provides appropriate nursing care to unit population.
- Knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures.
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation of nursing process and patient progress including education.
- Demonstrates professional practice responsibility and knowledge of policies and procedures.
- Promotes patient and family-centered care with professional, courteous, and positive interactions.
- Follows National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and patient identification.
- Knowledge of conditions, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients; individualizes care according to procedure and anesthesia.
- Contributes to perioperative team by prioritizing patient care and changes in condition.
- Assesses patient understanding of surgical procedures and provides pre- and postoperative education.
- Supports completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.
Job Details
- 1 year hospital acute care experience required.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- RN License required.
- Dysrhythmia certification required.
- BLS required.
Job Requirements
- Telemetry unit specialty.
- Knowledge of surgical patient care and anesthesia procedures relevant to unit.
- Experience with Pre Admission Testing (PAT) processes.
