Job SummaryJob Summary: System wide travel
Travel to different locations to meet staffing and consult on volume needs. Certified Nurse Consultant for Wound & Ostomy patient referrals for acute care inpatient services. Services provided after consultation generated by physician or nursing departments for individualized patient assessment and treatment recommendations. Adjunctive nursing services include staff education, interdisciplinary coordination of care, clinical leadership, clinical trials and studies and performance improvement activities.
PositionResponsibilities
- Certified Nurse Consultant – assessment, diagnoses, planning, implementation and evaluation of wound and/or ostomy patients
- Support staff education – unit-based education, system-wide education programs, vendor product education/coordination, competency training for staff, case studies
- Interdisciplinary coordination of care – collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate wound, ostomy and skin care needs
- Clinical leadership – representative on system-wide and divisional committees; serves as change agent and role model for nursing staff and coordinates projects related to wound, ostomy and skincare system-wide
- Clinical trials and studies – collaborates with Materials Management/Supply Chain and PVAC committee for product trials and clinical studies
- Performance improvement activities – leadership role in system-wide projects related to skin, wound, ostomy, and continence issues; participates in RCAs and reporting for hospital-acquired pressure injuries
- Required Experience: 1 year of wound and ostomy experience in an acute care setting (desired)

Education:
BS or BSN; graduate from approved wound education program; graduate or actively enrolled in an approved ostomy education program; graduate from accredited RN School of Nursing Program - Training / Certification / Licensure: Current RN License in State of NJ; BLS;
Driver's License;
Wound and Ostomy Board certifications required within 1 year of hire or upon hire if per diem - Current certifications for CWOCN; CWCN/COCN; CWON; or WCC/OMS or approved National Board Certification for Wound/Ostomy; or actively pursuing credentialing
Hourly Rate: $39.44 - $61.14
The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant's experience as well as internal equity and market data.
