Medical Assistant

Busy dermatology practice in Spotswood, NJ is searching for a reliable Medical Assistant with experience to perform various office, clinical duties to keep our Dermatology practice running efficiently. Our Medical Assistant will assist in surgical and basic examinations, maintain patient records and explain common medical procedures to patients.

• Recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical and surgical procedures and other patient care
• Sterilizing and preparing instruments
• Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Front desk coverage includes answering phones and scheduling appointments
• Other clerical duties may include, but are not limited to, faxing, prior authorizations, patient results phone calls, lab and surgical paperwork

Qualifications:

• High level of professionalism
• Attention to detail with strong ability to multitask
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of electronic medical health care record systems
• Excellent computer and phone skills

Experience:

• Minor surgical procedure experience
• Dermatology experience is a plus.
• Experience in MOHS assistance is a plus.
• Experience with and knowledge of EMR.
• Experience in assisting with minor surgical procedures.

Job Type:

• Part-time or full-time
• Ability to be flexible to cover as needed greatly appreciated.
• Pay starting at $18/hr

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

Certifications/Licenses:

• Medical Assistant Certification (Preferred)
