Job Summary

Responsible to maintain the cleanliness and safety of assigned area following established procedures. Ensures that all residents and staff service requests, as directed by your supervisor, are completed with a sense of urgency. Use proper care of equipment and control the usage of cleaning supplies. Full-Time and Part-Time shifts available.

• Cleans and disinfects resident areas, restrooms, showers/baths, resident dining rooms, utility rooms, corridors, stairwells and elevators.
• Empties and relines trash containers taking trash to designated holding area.
• Dust mop, vacuum, and damp mop floors.
• Cleans and disinfects all high-touch surfaces including over-bed tables, light switches, shower stalls, restroom sink and toilet fixtures.
• Vacuum/damp-wipes ledges, over-bed lights, vents, windowsills and furniture.
• Cleans inside of room glass and glass panels.
• Replenished paper towel, toilet paper and soap supplies to ensure these items are always available.
• Ensure that all furniture is neatly and properly arranged.
• Performs terminal cleaning of resident rooms upon discharge. In addition to daily cleaning responsibilities must clean and disinfect bed mattress and frame, bedside cabinets, armoires, wheelchairs.
• Shampoos/extract carpets and upholstered furniture.
• Scrubs and refinishes hard surface flooring.

• Follow established policies regarding the use of labels and SDS.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious materials and/or hazardous waste or chemicals and dispose PPE properly.
• Dispose of refuse daily or as often as required in accordance with standard procedures.
• Ensure proper cleaning cart set-up and that all chemicals are in proper containers labeled.
• Follow the prescribed routine/terminal cleaning procedures as established by nursing.
• Ensures that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing job functions.
