Location: Oradell
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Occupational Therapist will serve as a member of the rehabilitation and habilitation teams. They will provide evaluations and appropriate intervention within their scope of practice. This position will travel to our offices located in Oradell, Wayne, Paramus, and Hackensack, NJ. Monday - Friday (21/27 hrs/week, 3-5 days per week).
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES- Works toward the accomplishment of department/Agency goals
- Maintains confidentiality and immediately reports to management breaches in confidentiality
- Observes and maintains appropriate professional boundaries with members, co-workers and supervisors
- Attends all scheduled meetings as assigned
- Meets relevant continuing educational/training requirements
- Completes all required documentation/paperwork accurately and within established time frames
- Provides direct supervision to assigned employees in order to enhance their job skill set.
- Provides on-going support to employees to assure completion of job responsibilities
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency's policies, applicable laws and governmental regulatory agencies
- Reviews employees' responsibilities to determine time frame and scope of authority, reviews employees' requirements and allotments of available resources
- Evaluates employees' productivity and documentation of service delivery
- Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Minimum Education:
B.S. / M.S. (preferred) in Occupational Therapy - Minimum Experience:
1 year in a related setting - Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge:
- Demonstrated knowledge of and independence in the use of varied therapy treatment approaches
- Knowledge of normal development
- Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Perform strenuous physical activities
- Travel to various locations
- Engage individual / family / guardian effectively and openly in treatment planning
- Knowledge:
- Valid Driver's License
- Required Certification/Registration: NJ State License
