Overview
Position Distribution Technician
The Distribution Technician works independently to support patient care through the receipt, storage, and distribution, inventory management and procurement of medical surgical supplies and patient care equipment. This position performs physical inventory of supply carts, data entry of supply orders, receives supplies, replenishes and maintains stock par levels, and responds to individual requests. This position procures non-stock supplies, specialty equipment and fills individual equipment requests.
The Distribution Technician physically exchanges supply carts, collects and data enters patient charges. This position may also assist the Processing Technician with collection and cleaning of patient care sterile equipment on an as needed basis. This position completes all other duties as assigned and maintains a clean and safe workplace. This role supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
- High School degree or equivalent.
- EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. - EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of one-year experience with Central Service, Materials Management or a healthcare related field is preferred. Hospital storeroom and data entry experience preferred. The ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

- Potential exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease and hazardous substances.
- Requires extensive walking, standing, and lifting; ability to push and pull weights in excess of 90 pounds with assistance. Lifting, pushing and pulling weights 30 to 90 lbs or greater with assistance a majority of the time may be required.
