The business operates in a project-driven, asset-intensive environment and is experiencing a period of accelerated growth, increasing operational complexity, and expanding financial requirements.
As the organization scales, there is a clear need to further professionalize the finance function to support leadership decision-making, project execution, and evolving investor and lender expectations.
Purpose of the PositionThe Head of Finance will serve as the senior finance leader for the organization, responsible for building and scaling a best-in-class finance function to support rapid growth, operational complexity, and increasing investor and lender expectations.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role designed for a “rising CFO” with the capability, judgment, and ambition to grow alongside the business. The Head of Finance will partner closely with the executive team to drive financial discipline, deliver actionable insights, and ensure the company’s financial infrastructure can support its next phase of expansion.
The role blends strategic finance, operational execution, and team leadership, with immediate focus on accelerating the financial close, enhancing systems and controls, strengthening FP&A, and improving project-level financial visibility.
Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy- Lead the finance function across accounting, FP&A, treasury, and reporting for a multi-entity organization
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial strategy, capital allocation, growth initiatives, and risk management
- Own forecasting and performance management across P&L, cash flow, and EBITDA, driving disciplined planning, variance analysis, and transparency
- Support lender reporting, investor communications, and capital initiatives
- Drive selective M&A activity, including target evaluation, diligence coordination, financial modeling, integration planning, purchase accounting analysis, and post-close KPI tracking
- Build and institutionalize enterprise-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning with a clear monthly and quarterly operating cadence
- Develop robust financial models to support growth scenarios, geographic expansion, and acquisition opportunities
- Partner closely with operational leaders to provide clear, actionable financial insights that support decision-making
- Establish project-level financial tracking, including work-in-progress (WIP) and percentage-of-completion (POC) reporting for active construction projects and funded initiatives
- Lead the migration and optimization of financial systems, including ERP implementation and integration of multiple billing platforms
- Accelerate the monthly close process through improved controls, processes, and team structure
- Oversee multi-entity accounting and cash management to ensure accuracy, consistency, and strong internal controls
- Partner with external audit and tax providers to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and sound financial governance
- Assess, mentor, and develop the existing finance team while identifying opportunities to thoughtfully scale the function
- Build a finance organization capable of supporting a growing, geographically dispersed business
- Establish clear roles, accountability, and professional development paths within the team
- Foster a culture of rigor, ownership, and continuous improvement aligned with an execution-oriented environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA strongly preferred
- 10–12+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally beginning with a public accounting foundation
- Experience in project-driven, asset-intensive, or infrastructure-adjacent environments (e.g., construction, utilities, telecom, industrial services)
- Demonstrated success building or scaling finance functions in growth-stage or private equity–backed organizations
- Strong FP&A, financial modeling, and advanced Excel capabilities
- ERP implementation experience preferred (Net Suite a plus)
- Working knowledge of multi-entity accounting, project accounting, WIP/POC, and government or grant‑funded programs is highly desirable
- Strategic thinker with a hands‑on, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves mentality
- Highly analytical and detail‑oriented, comfortable operating in fast‑paced and evolving environments
- Strong communicator who partners effectively with operators, executives, investors, and external stakeholders
- Gritty, execution‑focused leader energized by building structure where little exists today
