Accounting Specialist

Our client partner firm is looking for a full charge bookkeeper/operations assistant. You’ll support the CFO across administrative, accounting, and firm operations, with a focus on law-firm finance. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accountant who has worked in a law firm or at a CPA firm serving law-firm clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting & Reporting: Own day-to-day bookkeeping (AP/AR), billing, trust/IOLTA reconciliations, expense management, and month-end close; maintain the GL and produce management reports for the CFO.
• Billing & Collections: Manage timekeeping, prebills, invoicing, and collections; ensure compliance with client guidelines and engagement terms.
• Engagement & Matter Support: Assist with client intake, engagement letters, matter costing, and WIP analysis; coordinate with attorneys on budgets and accruals.
• Operational Support: Improve workflows and systems (case management, billing, and document management) and handle vendor management and purchasing.
• Admin & HR Coordination: Support onboarding, scheduling, benefits coordination, and policy documentation in partnership with the CFO/Operations.
• Projects for the CFO: Help with cash-flow tracking, forecasts, KPI dashboards, audit/tax prep, and process automation.

Qualifications

• Required: Experience in a law firm or at a CPA firm with law-firm clients.
• 2–4 years in bookkeeping/operations within legal or professional services.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and communication skills.
