Overview

Weichert Financial Services is hiring a Mortgage Advisor in Ocean County, NJ. Established in 1980 to offer real estate-related financial assistance to the customers of Weichert, Realtors, Weichert Financial Services has a unique opportunity for a Mortgage Advisor to assist clients in achieving the American Dream of Home ownership. Mortgage Advisors are on the front lines of the real estate process, with access to leads from various sources and opportunities to meet agents and referral partners outside our real estate offices.

Responsibilities
  • Represent the Company and originate residential mortgage loans within a designated Weichert sales office. Develop and maintain existing customer relationships, and identify new customer opportunities from various channels.
  • Work with Realtor partners to prequalify prospects, issue pre-approvals, stay in contact with customers during the home search process, and assist until closing. Partner with the Office Manager to convert leads and add value to Sales Associates.
  • Develop relationships with new and current customers, realtors, builders, attorneys, and referral partners, including Weichert Realtors and the broader Realtor Community outside the Weichert office.
  • Leverage personal networks to generate leads and proactively follow up on leads from company-provided sources.
  • Issue fully assessed pre-approvals covering income, credit, and property standards.
  • Provide a complete needs analysis for each prospect, identify the most suitable program, and offer accurate rate quotes and options.
  • Submit complete and accurate mortgage loan applications with information required for underwriting decisions.
  • Stay informed of market changes affecting the Company's loan products.
  • Communicate regularly with all participants during the loan origination process, keeping them updated on status.
  • Provide excellent customer service and solutions for customer concerns.
  • Promote a collaborative atmosphere with Weichert team members and stay up-to-speed on product availability; provide customers with the appropriate product contact information.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, Company policies, procedures, and investor guidelines, including maintaining loan origination licensing and continuing education requirements.
  • Update lead portals, the CRM, and other tracking software regularly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Individual state loan originator license(s) required for states in which the employee engages in mortgage loan origination activity
  • At least 1 to 3 years of retail mortgage loan origination experience preferred
  • General financial sales, real estate, or mortgage operations experience may be substituted for part of required mortgage loan origination experience
  • Ability to determine appropriate interest rate quotes and maximum qualification amounts based on investor guidelines
  • Ability to apply investor guidelines to sales situations and recommend appropriate products based on qualifications and needs
  • Ability to set goals and divide processes into timelines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn the Company's mortgage software
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to conduct presentations and hold one-on-one meetings
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior customer service with strong attention to detail
  • Strong math skills including basic arithmetic, percentages, and fractions
  • Knowledge of typical office equipment (PC, calculator, fax, etc.)
Compensation and Benefits

In addition to a base salary up to $33,113.60, this position offers a competitive commission structure. Compensation will depend on factors including relevant skills, education, experience, location, and certifications.
