Manufacturing Engineer

Position: Manufacturing Engineer I
Location: Parsippany

Akkodis is seeking a remote Manufacturing Engineer I for a 3-month contract job with a client in Parsippany, NJ. This is an entry-level position, responsible for supporting manufacturing engineering to ensure efficient manufacturing processes. You will be updating 43-45 manufacturing procedures for an application upgrade by redlining procedures, creating screenshots, and change verbiage for the change management process.

Rate Range: $37.50/hour to $40.00/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Manufacturing Engineer I job responsibilities include:

• Assist in maintaining and improving controlled technical documents such as prints, procedures, bill of materials and routers.

• Support a wide variety of processing applications such as machining, finishing, forging, casting, cleaning, heat treating, bonding, molding, etc.

• Improve process methods which meet performance and quality requirements.

• Communicate (written and verbal) with appropriate personnel from other departments.

• Maintain and improve controlled technical documents such as prints, procedures, bill of materials and routers.

• Improve process methods which meet performance and quality requirements.

Desired

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Engineering required.

• One to two years of experience required.

• Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

• Ability to balance quality, compliance and safety to meet customer requirements.

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple medium complexity project assignments and complete work in a timely manner.

• Experience with process improvement.

• Good problem-solving skills through the use of quality and statistical tools.

• Ability to effectively work within a cross-functional team to complete critical project tasks.

• Demonstrates good technical writing and verbal communication skills.

• Microsoft Office Suite and Project.
