Job Description
  • The AS9145 Quality Engineer will lead the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) within the Organization.
  • The candidate will be responsible for driving process and product improvement initiatives across the Organization guiding department members supporting the AS9145 Standard.
  • The ideal candidate is a technical expert with AS9145 in Aerospace or Automotive Industries.
Essential Functions
  • Responsibilities of the AS9145 Quality Engineer Serves as a model of critical roles and responsibilities within the Quality Department, and mentor members of the team.
  • AS9145 mentor/coach for various projects within the Organization.
  • Subject matter expert on AS9145, providing expertise and guidance for deployment, implementation and project execution.
  • Develop roadmaps and program plans that lead to a successful integration of AS9145 requirements into policies and procedures.
  • Help define key characteristics of product performance, and report on these characteristics at regular intervals.
  • Perform root cause analysis of production failures.
  • Collaborate with various leaders across multiple functions to understand best approach to implementing AS9145 across multiple projects.
  • 5+ years minimum of hands‑on experience with AS9145 within the Automotive or Aerospace industries required.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, AS9102, and related quality requirements.
  • Capable of working independently as well as providing technical and operational leadership within a cross‑functional team of engineers and technicians.
  • Detail-oriented and demonstrated background in process development and improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited educational institution required, master's degree preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills required. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Demonstrated excellence working with ERP systems.
  • Previous experience in an Automotive or Aerospace environment preferred.
  • Previous experience working in ISO
    9001/AS9100 certified manufacturing facilities required.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
