Location: East Hanover, NJ
Salary: $160,000–$200,000 (higher based on experience)

- B.S. in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- Strong background in Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing
- Experience with foundations (shallow/deep), retaining walls, soil classification, and compaction control
- Experience with construction inspections (concrete, reinforced concrete, soil, asphalt)
- Proven ability to mentor and lead junior staff
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability and willingness to develop and maintain client relationships
- 3+ years of project management experience

Position OverviewOur client is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing to take a leadership role in delivering high-quality engineering services.
This individual will manage and execute projects, oversee construction materials testing and special inspections, mentor junior staff, and help expand client relationships. The ideal candidate is proactive, technically strong, and business-development minded.
This role is based in East Hanover, NJ with collaboration across offices in New York City, Newark, and Princeton.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and manage engineering tasks including technical analysis, evaluations, field investigations, design reviews, and reporting
- Lead and oversee Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspections projects for public and private clients
- Ensure projects meet quality standards, budgets, and schedules
- Prepare and review proposals, geotechnical reports, and technical documentation
- Provide mentorship, training, and technical guidance to junior engineers and field staff
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary internal teams to support project delivery
- Support business development through client relationship management and opportunity identification
- Conduct jobsite visits and construction support activities
- Coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, and subconsultants
- Participate in professional and industry events
- High-quality, on-time project delivery
- Strong client satisfaction and repeat business
- Effective team leadership and staff development
- Growth of geotechnical and CMT service offerings
