Senior Design Engineer Springfield, Area

Our client, a leader in the engineering sector, is seeking a seasoned Design Engineer to lead the development of new products and enhance existing product lines in alignment with the company's strategic vision. • Lead the design and development of prototype models, employing robust validation methods to finalize product designs, supported by detailed engineering calculations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and authorize design modifications, ensuring seamless integration and optimization.
• Actively engage in problem-solving, providing timely updates on project progress and addressing any unusual occurrences to the Engineering Manager or Project Engineer.
• Establish and maintain effective collaboration with manufacturing, quality assurance, production teams, as well as external vendors and contractors, to achieve project goals.
• Leverage engineering expertise to review final designs and recommend adjustments to meet high standards of product quality and manufacturability.
• Remain informed of the latest technological advancements to integrate innovative solutions into product designs.
• Visit client sites and work closely with contractors to ensure product specifications meet client needs and to troubleshoot any product-related issues.
• Document project progress through detailed time reports and perform additional duties as needed to support the engineering team.

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in design engineering, with a track record of successful project management.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a meticulous approach to problem-solving and design innovation.
• Excellent communication abilities, with the skill to articulate complex ideas effectively.
• Creative and open-minded, with a knack for generating new ideas and driving innovation.
• Self-motivated and organized, capable of thriving under pressure and meeting critical deadlines.
• Independent with the ability to set priorities in line with organizational needs while also functioning effectively within a team environment.
• Proficiency in creating design drawings using AutoCAD and Solid Works software, complemented by the ability to support designs with MathCAD calculations.
• A strong grasp of geometric tolerance techniques, with experience in fluid handling device engineering considered a strong asset.
