Operations Technician I

Responsibilities/Expectations- Performs various tasks to safely maintain facility equipment and support pipeline operations, inspecting/supervising equipment and maintaining operation/technical standards and/or governmental requirements
- Collaborates with others to discover solutions to technical or operational problems
- Follows all Company policies and applies appropriate operating and maintenance procedures
- Acquires knowledge of and adheres to requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities, execution of tasks, protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets
- Oversees general knowledge of site/location/equipment/specific permits and compliance
- Completes assigned reports, logs, and maintains accurate records of process operations and performance of preventative maintenance on equipment
- Other duties as assigned
- Required:
High School Diploma/GED - Preferred:
Associates or two-year technical degree; minimum six (6) months mechanical, technical, or controls systems experience in the oil and gas industry or operations technician summer internship with Associates Degree
- Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
- Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
- Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
- Use hand tools
- Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises
- May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays
- Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Demonstrates aptitude and ability to embrace technology and applications to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills and basic knowledge of Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers
Generally performs basic operations and maintenance tasks that have lesser complexity. Relies on established guidelines and/or detailed direction. Work will familiarize individual with programs and practices of the Company. Progression Profile:

- Uses basic technical or operation skills to perform routine tasks
- Completes prescribed tasks with little autonomy - Works either under close supervision or within clearly defined procedures
- Demonstrates professional conduct and business ethics
- Basic computer skills email, MS Word and Excel
- Demonstrates good reading and reading comprehension skills
- Demonstrates good writing skills. Able to write clearly and concisely
- Completes structured training program designed to provide interdisciplinary experience and to build strengths in areas that match career aspirations and needs of the Company
- Recognizes the economic (Commercial) aspects of the job
- Understands compliance responsibilities
