Position SummaryOld World Wisconsin (OWW) is among the nation’s largest outdoor history attractions. Located in Eagle, Wisconsin (Milwaukee Metropolitan Area), OWW opened in 1976 to share the story of Wisconsin’s and the upper Midwest’s rural, agriculture, and immigration history. The Living History Program Coordinator supports the mission of the Wisconsin Historical Society and goals of Old World Wisconsin by planning and overseeing a variety of engaging and interactive living history experiences, including but not limited to trades, crafts, foodways, and agriculture.
At the direction of the General Manager, Experience and Events, the Living History Program Coordinator serves as the lead worker for staff and volunteers providing daily interpretive demonstrations in collaboration with the Education Programs Coordinator and Collections and Exhibits Coordinator, and plans and implements living history workshops and classes. This role collaborates with the Landscapes and Gardens Coordinator and Animal Care Coordinator to ensure safe, accurate, and exceptional guest experiences across the site.
This position is tasked with bringing to life a nineteenth century and early 20th century environment while making these activities as interactive with our guests as possible. This includes demonstrations of historic skills for guests, training and coaching staff and volunteers to facilitate these skills, and leading the planning and implementation of daily living history experiences.
Salary InformationThe salary will be between $24.00-$29.00 per hour plus benefits. Pay on appointment for current or former state employees may vary according to the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan. This Program and Policy Analyst position is in pay schedule 07, range 04.
