DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION
Effective Date:
July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027
Salary Range: $130,000-$150,000
The Holmdel School District is seeking a dynamic leader who can help build a shared educational vision by working collaboratively with the entire school community.
The Director of Curriculum and Instruction will manage the planning and development process for all PreK-12 educational curricula across all schools and departments, providing leadership to principals, subject area supervisors, and teachers.
The successful candidate will work with the Superintendent and the Administrative team to support the goal of ongoing improvement in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development, monitor accountability results to ensure students are learning and that teachers and principals are effective, and ensure that the Holmdel Township School District is providing quality instruction. An important aspect of the role involves using aggregated data to inform decision-making processes and familiarity with business intelligence tools and data-gathering practices within an educational context.
Critical skills for success as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction are the ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders, a deep understanding of how to enact positive educational change, excellent communication and public speaking skills, the ability to address and resolve difficult situations, and a highly developed sense of long-range planning. This role requires strong evaluation, management, and coordination.
Qualifications:
* Master's degree in curriculum development or school administration, doctorate preferred
* Five years of successful teaching experience
* Five years of successful experience in the areas of curriculum development, professional staff development, testing and evaluation, or related activities
* Five years of successful administrative experience
* Certification as a supervisor or school administrator
* Complete the required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
