Summary
Cinnaminson Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Family & Consumer Science Teacher for a temporary position, beginning in mid-December 2025. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages students to explore essential life skills, including nutrition, cooking, personal finance, and family dynamics. This role requires a commitment to student engagement and the ability to create an inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for Family & Consumer Science that aligns with state standards and school objectives.
* Create lesson plans that engage students in hands-on activities and collaborative projects.
* Assess student performance through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations.
* Foster a safe and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
* Integrate technology into the curriculum to enhance learning experiences.
* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
* Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
* Maintain an organized and well-equipped classroom that promotes learning and creativity.
* Uphold school policies and procedures, including those related to student behavior and safety.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, Education, or a related field.
* Valid teaching certification in Family and Consumer Science or a willingness to obtain one.
* Previous teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.
* Strong knowledge of Family & Consumer Science topics, including nutrition, personal finance, and child development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
* Proficiency in using technology for teaching and communication.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
