Location: Mount Laurel
Rowan College at Burlington County, a comprehensive college in New Jersey's largest county, is seeking qualified applicants to fill the Chemistry Instructor position in the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics for the Fall 2027 semester.
This is a tenure-track faculty position to teach courses in Chemistry. Qualified candidates must be able to prepare and deliver lessons in a variety of college-level Chemistry courses and disciplines, including, but not limited to:
* Introductory chemistry lectures and laboratories
* General chemistry lectures and laboratories
* Organic chemistry lectures and laboratories
* Nutrition chemistry courses.
Professional Development:
Participate in professional development or other activities that may include in-services, courses, professional organizations, or seminars to advance instruction and technical skills and knowledge within the field of study.
Other Functions:
* Assist in recruitment of students.
* Support the College's mission and strategic plan initiatives.
* Develop community/industry contacts and participate in appropriate community service on behalf of the college.
OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.
Education Required:
* Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Chemistry or a related field.
* Ph.D. preferred.
Experience
Required:
* At least two years teaching experience in the discipline at the college level.
* At least one year experience in the use of instructional technologies
Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements
* Chemistry curriculum design and development.
* At least one year of industrial experience involving the applications of Chemistry.
* Willing to teach online.
* Willing to be on campus five days per week, typically M - F, with potential for evening courses
INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:
Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
