QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid NJ Elementary Education Teacher K-6 Certificate, or Preschool - Grade 3(P-3) Certificate.
2. Additional Certifications as an NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) a plus.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
4. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
5. Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
6. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
7. Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70).
REPORTS TO:
Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Kenilworth Board of Education's substitute teaching long-term rate of $345.00 per diem, terms as stated below.
* The employee is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.
* The position is not eligible for additional compensation in the form of stipends for extracurricular activities, coaching, or tuition reimbursement based on district policy.
* In accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:16-1:1, time accrued in a leave replacement position does not count towards tenure.
