Job Description

Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) has an anticipated opening for a Workforce Educator in Advanced Manufacturing. The Workforce Educator will deliver high quality training in hard and soft skills that prepares students for long-term employment success, perpetually improve quality of lessons while ensuring curriculum remains aligned with industry standards per advisory board, and assess students' progress per industry-validated standards in an accurate, consistent, and timely manner.

The Workforce Educator will also assist the program coordinator with curricular updates and other departmental tasks, as well as attend manufacturing department meetings, and industry and recruitment events as needed.

Essential Duties
  • Develop and deliver engaging and high-quality noncredit instruction.
  • Ensure all graduates have met all competencies at the level deemed appropriate by Industry.
  • Consistently model and expect exemplary soft skills from students.
  • Consistently present a professional image as aligned with industry standards.
  • Adapt teaching style to meet the needs of diverse learners. Ensure proper safety in classroom.
  • Ensure that all students have clear understanding of program requirements.
  • Ensure that the students are effectively progressing in their program. Expend additional efforts for lagging students.
  • Assist in hiring of staff, student recruitment and curricular as needed.
  • Assist program coordinator with departmental tasks including new certifications that will provide advanced education for professionals and partnership programs with local area high schools.
  • Maintain inventory for new certification classes that are within the scope of practice for manufacturing.
  • Actively participate in department and college-wide meetings.
  • Ensure academic and attendance records are accurate and current. Maintain any records required by state. Gather data as needed in a timely fashion.
  • Keep essential professional certifications current.
  • Ensure facilities are maintained and willingness to participate in other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to stay current with state of the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required with strong verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, multiple deadlines.
  • Flexibility with schedule to cover evening and weekends, as necessary.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the College's mission of service to the community.
  • Program desires team player who can adapt to change and has a passion for helping students find long-term success through employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge CAD/CAMS/Drafting packages (Mastercam, Solid works, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of CNC mills, CNC lathes, CNC plasma cutters, laser cutters including programming, operation, tooling, and safety.
  • Knowledge of repair techniques for equipment.
  • NIMs Credential or similar.
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing software such as Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
