Overview

St. Rose High School seeks a mission‑driven and organized Interim Athletic Director to provide leadership and oversight of the school's athletic programs during a transitional period. The Interim Athletic Director is responsible for the effective administration, supervision, and evaluation of all interscholastic athletic programs, ensuring alignment with the school's Catholic mission, NJSIAA regulations, and school policies.

This role is focused on stability, compliance, communication, and student‑athlete development while supporting coaches and collaborating closely with school leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and day‑to‑day oversight of all athletic programs and activities.
  • Supervise, support, and evaluate coaching staff to ensure professionalism, accountability, and alignment with school expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with all New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) rules, league regulations, and school policies.
  • Oversee athletic scheduling, facilities usage, transportation coordination, and game‑day operations.
  • Manage athletic budgets, purchasing, and inventory in collaboration with school administration.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the athletic department and school leadership, families, officials, and league representatives.
  • Promote a culture of sportsmanship, integrity, and student‑centered decision‑making.
  • Support the academic and behavioral expectations of student‑athletes in collaboration with administration and guidance staff.
  • Coordinate athletic eligibility, required documentation, and communication with families.
  • Assist in the and planning of the athletic program to ensure sustainability and mission alignment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Prior experience in athletic administration, coaching, or school leadership.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of interscholastic athletics and student‑athlete development.
  • Ability to lead with clarity, fairness, and consistency.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and attend athletic events as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as an Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director.
  • Familiarity with NJSIAA rules and regulations.
  • Experience working in a Catholic or mission‑driven educational environment.
  • Background in program supervision, budgeting, or staff management.
