Job Description

The Part-Time Nursing Clinical Preceptor will employ a range of suitable strategies to foster student learning, stimulate discussions, and encourage active learning strategies. They will maintain proper course-related records, prompt assessment of student coursework, and apprise students of progress in the clinical area. Positions are available in Medical Surgical, Foundations, Psych, Maternal‑Newborn, Pediatrics.

  • Clinical supervision of the assigned group(s) of students in the clinical setting.
  • Prepare appropriate plans, materials, and learning activities for students to achieve the learning outcomes of each clinical experience.
  • Orient students to the clinical unit.
  • Select appropriate learning experiences for the assigned student group(s), i.e., patient assignments and planning clinical conferences.
  • Observe, guide, and review students’ performance, providing on‑the‑spot instruction as necessary.
  • Evaluate students’ clinical performance in writing on a weekly basis and verbally as needed, providing written feedback on nursing care plans, medication cards, and pathophysiology cards.
  • Specialty rotation papers (when assigned:y); research projects (when assigned).
  • Document/Komentariet the clinical observations and appropriate incidents during the clinical experience.
  • Consult with students individually or in groups to review progression toward clinical outcomes and identify required teaching strategies.
  • Administer clinical evaluation forms measuring student learning and report grades to the Course Coordinator.
  • Maintain student records inવેّ accordance with college procedure and assessment practice.
  • Use standardized instructor evaluation forms to obtain feedback regarding performance.
  • Maintain a cooperative, positive relationship with the staff on any assigned healthcare unit to facilitate an optimal learning environment.
  • Maintain effective, ongoing communication with the Course Coordinator and/or Chairperson of HSE login to house progress and concerns.
  • Attend all course team meetings.
  • Assistance of the Course Coordinator during the semester with laboratory preparation and procedure demonstrations as indicated.
  • Arrange and complete orientation with the clinical site unit manager to familiarize with the assigned clinical unit and satisfy mandatory requirements.
  • Attend meetings required by the Academic Chair or their designees.
  • Participate in the affairs of the College to develop and maintain a strong, vibrant instructional institution.
  • Contribute ideas and energies to cooperate and actively participate as a team member with colleagues in carrying out department activities.
  • Consult with the Academic Chair, Course Coordinator, or other appropriate college personnel on questions or issues involving curricula, instructional strategies, and college procedures and policies.
  • Continuously improve teaching effectiveness through professional growth, including professional development
