  • Select appropriate plants, trees, and materials based on climate, soil conditions, and aesthetic preferences.
  • Make design adjustments as needed to accommodate client feedback or site‑specific considerations.
  • Act as the first‑level ordinance interpreter, reviewing local regulations and zoning requirements to ensure designs are prepared for successful permit approval, and work closely with the Permit Coordinator to streamline the approval process.
  • Support communication between clients, designers, project managers, construction, and maintenance teams to maintain design integrity through implementation.
  • Coordinate with landscape architects, contractors, and vendors to source materials and resolve design or site challenges.
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and approvals to help ensure deadlines are met.
  • Attend site visits and assist in documenting project progress and as‑built conditions on an as‑needed basis.
  • Organize design files, drawings, and materials for efficient workflow and team access.
  • Maintain the design library, plant database, and sample inventory.
  • Assist in scheduling client meetings, design reviews, and studio activities.
  • Support the production of presentation boards, concept packages, and printed deliverables.
  • Write proposals.
  • Maintain the design studio’s inventory, ensuring all supplies, materials, and resources are available and organized to support smooth workflow and project execution.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks and support functions as needed.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of CAD software.
  • Familiarity with plants or desire to learn.
  • Familiarity with local zoning codes, setback requirements, grading and drainage regulations, tree ordinances, and related construction permitting standards.
  • A degree in Landscape Design, Horticulture or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle; occasional travel to sites and vendors as required.
