Traveling to Elizabeth, Totowa, West New York, Elmwood Park, Ridgefield Park, Clifton, and Paterson

• Assist orthodontist in patient assessment and treatment planning
• Assist and prepare orthodontic procedures, such as fitting braces, adjusting wires, and placing elastics.
• Sterilize, set up and prepare orthodontic equipment and instrumentation
• Preparation and maintenance of medical records and documentation
• Create patient file entries
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Provide patient instruction and education on oral hygiene and care
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Perform basic laboratory duties
• Schedule patient appointments
• Manage patient flow
• Under the supervision of the Orthodontist, deliver and assist with direct patient care
• Take diagnostic records
• Document and prepare cases
• Other duties as assigned

Successful candidates should demonstrate the following strengths: strong communication proficiency, customer focus, ethical, excellent organizational skills and problem solving, team player

• High school diploma required; either a diploma from accredited orthodontic assistant program or relevant clinical experience.
• Dental assistant license or relevant clinical experience.
• X‑ray license required.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with orthodontic procedures, terminology and techniques.
