Smile New York Outreach, a school-based mobile dental practice, is seeking a Dental Assistant in Far Rockaway, Queens, NY and surrounding areas to help provide dental care to underserved children at their school.

Our in school dental program offers something different than a traditional dental practice. With a workday that ends with the school day and no nights or weekends, our program is ideal for people seeking a diverse and different working environment, working parents, and anyone who wants to make a difference in the dental field.

• Dental Assistant Certification (preferred, but not required)
• CPR certification card
• Working experience as a Dental Assistant
• Working experience with Digital X-ray's
• Experience with patient charting (paper forms, charting tooth surfaces)
• Valid , and a willingness to travel to schools within the boroughs
• Works well with children
• Team player and able to work on a small team
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Dental assisting services during mobile dental clinics
• Digital X-ray imaging
• Patient records charting
• Equipment set-up, breakdown, and sterilization assistance
• Travel daily to and from school sites

• Evenings, weekends and summers off
• Working a school day schedule (about 6–7 hours); on average between 8:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.

Smile New York Outreach, through our affiliated dentists and other dental professionals, visits kids throughout New York City and Westchester County in the familiar surroundings of their schools, bringing much needed dental care to kids who may not otherwise have access.
