Position Overview
Rider University invites applications for the position of Graphic Designer. The Graphic Designer supports Rider University's Division of External Affairs by creating engaging, high-quality visual communications across print, digital, and social media platforms. Working under the direction of the Associate Director of Creative Services, the graphic designer leads projects from concept through production while ensuring consistency with the University's established brand standards.
This role collaborates closely with internal clients, external vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, detail-oriented design solutions that advance the University's marketing and communications goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of professional design experience, preferably in higher education, agency or in-house marketing environments.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in publication design, typography, layout and visual storytelling across print and digital platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing deadlines and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Motion graphics and illustration skills are a plus.
- Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.
